Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

This policy explains which personal data Matajr processes, why, and what rights you have, in line with Algerian law 18-07 of 10 June 2018 on the protection of natural persons in the processing of personal data.

The platform is operated by an auto-entrepreneur registered in Algeria.

1. Who is responsible

For merchants' account data, Matajr is the data controller.

For the data of a merchant's customers (the people who order from a store), the merchant is the controller and Matajr processes it on the merchant's behalf, only to run the store and its orders.

2. Data we collect from merchants

When you sign up and use Matajr, we collect:

  • account details: name, email address, mobile number and password (stored only as a hash);
  • store details: store name, address, wilaya, products, prices and settings;
  • billing details: the plan chosen and the payment history (card details are handled by Chargily and never stored by us);
  • technical data: logs of connections and actions, used for security.

3. Data collected on behalf of merchants

When a customer orders from a store, we record what the cash-on-delivery order needs: name, phone number, wilaya, commune, delivery address, the products ordered and an optional note. We also keep the order and confirmation history, so the merchant can see a customer's past deliveries.

4. Why we use it

We use this data only to:

  • create and run your account and store;
  • take, confirm, ship and follow orders;
  • bill paid plans and send service messages (for example a plan about to end);
  • keep the platform secure and prevent fraud;
  • answer your requests.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the providers needed to deliver the service, and only what they need:

  • delivery companies chosen by the merchant, for the orders they ship;
  • Chargily, for card payments;
  • our hosting and email providers.

6. How long we keep it

Account and store data are kept while the account is open. After an account is closed, they are deleted within 90 days, except what the law requires us to keep longer (for example billing records).

Customer order data is kept for as long as the merchant keeps the store, and is deleted with it.

7. Your rights

Under law 18-07, you have the right to be informed, to access your data, to have it corrected or updated, and to object to its processing for legitimate reasons. You can also lodge a complaint with the national authority for the protection of personal data (ANPDP).

Merchants can update most of their data from the dashboard. For any request, write to support@matajr.dz. A merchant's customer should first contact the store they ordered from; we will help the merchant answer.

8. Data security

We protect data with technical and organisational measures, including:

  • strict separation between stores: every query is scoped to its store, so one merchant can never see another's data;
  • encryption of all traffic between your browser, the dashboard and our servers (HTTPS);
  • passwords stored only as a hash, and access to the dashboard by personal account;
  • access to production systems limited to the people who need it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Important changes will be announced by email or in the dashboard before they apply.

10. Contact

For any question about your data, write to support@matajr.dz or call 0559 87 99 45.
